The Chills: The Triumph and the Tragedy of Martin Phillipps

What started life as a small homegrown project entitled ‘The Curse of The Chills’ eventually became an international co-production between Notable Pictures and Fire Films, supported by the New Zealand Film Commission

The film is variously a celebration of indie pioneers The Chills, a documentary about a life ravaged by Hepatitis C, and a homage to the Otago Peninsula on New Zealand’s South Island, the landscape that birthed the ‘Dunedin Sound’.

Directed by Julia Parnell and Rob Curry, the film premiered at SXSW before playing festivals around the world. Currently available internationall on streaming platforms.
